Phils lose, Nats are HOT
The phillies lost today to the red hot nationals in DC as Washington won its 7th straight. They are 25 back of first place. The Phillies remain 1/2 game back of NY heading into game 2 in the capitol.
Tim redding took a no hit bid into the sixth but gave up a shane victorino infield single. a wild thow by Nats catcher Jesus Flores got Vic to 3rd and he scored on a Ryan Howard double. Utley crushed #32 but that was almost it as the Phils lost, 7-4.
About that Sabathia play. That was a No Hitter. Not a 1 hitter. It Was A No-No! Hopefully, the brew crew will get their case in MLB "court. U dont mess with CC!

Coste's Walk Off in 13th, Phightins in Phirst
Chris Coste Hit an RBI single in the 13th inning of the marathon yesterday as the Phillies beat NY to reclaim first in the east.
Phillies: Kendrick (11-7)
Mets: Santana (12-7)
If I'm Charlie Manuel, this is my Lineup:
Werth RF/Rollins SS/Burrell LF/Utley 2B/Coste C/Victorino CF/Howard 1B/Kendrick P/ Dobbs 3B/
Call me Crazy for Having Kendrick 8th, but put it like this: Kendrick can hit when he wants to but if he were to make the last out, Dobbs would lead off and get someting started.
Ingenius
Gameday Sweet treat: We need runs so I'm going with the ol' BB Bats. We need runs!

Should I stay or should I go
Pat Burrell may not come back next year. If he doesn't sign an extension he would become a free agent. If I'm Pat Gillick, I would go for Fernando Tatis for two years. If he was younger, I would give him four years.
But Today, Lefty Jamie Moyer (11-7) takes the hill against the Mets hall-of-famer Pedro Martinez (4-3)
GAMEDAY SWEET: I love when these guys get a W. but we need one tonight which is why I am going with GOOD NEWS. It'll be Good news when we win tonight and clinch first.
GO PHILLIES!
P.S. Sorry I havent been blogging much. I have extremely bad internet connection down in rehoboth DE.

Hallelujah Baby
Those are the words i sing today. Cole Hamels got win #10 (finally) as Brad Lidge clinched his 30th save in as many opportunities by striking out the side in the ninth. i personally think he will get this year's N.L. Rolaids Relief Man of the Year Award. What do you think?
Here is the Line for Hamels:
8.0IP, 7H, 1R, BB, 3K
Only three K's. That is not really Hamels-ish, but, he got the job done.
Tomorrow we ave a chance to gain ground in the east as the last place Nats come to town.
P.S. Hamels got two hits last night, raising his average to .283 (WOW)

Gameday: Phillies @ Dodgers: 8/14/08
Brett Myers the mound for the phillies tonight against L.A. He has been dominant against the dodgers for most of his career. He will be facing the young Hiroki Kuroda tonight in Chavez Ravine.
Phillies: Myers (5-9)
Dodgers: Kuroda (6-8)
Oh My God
The Phllies bullpen blew a 6-1 lead as philadelphia suffered a heartbreaking 7-6 loss to the dodgers on Nomar Garciaparra's walkoff shot. Despite homers by Howard (33), Werth (16) and Dobbs (5), the boys in red lost a nail biter to the bums.

Gameday: Phillies @ Dodgers: 8/12/08
With Hamels on the hill for center city's heart and soul, win #10 is at cole's fingertips. Just one roadblock. A 230lb, dreadlocked little cleanup hitter name Manny. That is the one thing stopping us!
Phillies: Hamels (9-8)
Dodgers: Kershaw (2-3)
